ClinicalKey and ClinicalKey for Nursing provide the option to tie your mobile app account to your OpenAthens login, but DO NOT select that option. You will not be able to keep your account (and all the saved favorites and accumulated CE credits) if you move to another command, such as Naval Medical Center San Diego.
On a DHA-networked computer, follow the link above or access the Library's intranet page. Select or scroll to the “A to Z List of Resources” and select “ClinicalKey" from the “C" section.
On the ClinicalKey home page, select “Register” in the top right-hand corner and fill out the registration form (you can use a personal email address for the ClinicalKey account).
In the browser on your mobile device, go to ClinicalKey.com. Choose the three horizontal lines in the top right corner, select “Login,” and log in in the top right corner.
Once logged in, select the three lines in the top right corner again and select “Remote Access.” In the Email Address box provided, fill in your “.mil” email address. When asked to select an organization, choose “Defense Health Agency Consortium – DHA Virtual Medical Library.”
A confirmation email will be sent to your “.mil” email account that will ask you to Activate your remote access by clicking on a link (on an DHA-networked computer).
Once you click on the link on your DHA-networked computer, if you are prompted to say whether your access is through Defense Health Agency Consortium – DHA Virtual Medical Library” or “Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Naval Medical Center,” choose "Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Naval Medical Center."
Next, on your mobile device, go to your app store and download the ClinicalKey app.
Open the app, and if asked to Select Subscription, select “Organizational Subscription.” If asked to choose a product, choose either ClinicalKey product. If asked to Select Edition, select "ClinicalKey (clinicalkey.com)."
When asked to sign in, choose “Access via your Organization.” However, fill in the email address you originally used to create your account, rather than the name of an institution.
To verify your subscription, look under “Settings,” then “User Account.” Your listed organization should be "Defense Health Agency Consortium."
NOTE: To continue access you must log into your personal account from a DOD PC every 90 days.
